Specsavers has launched its new MyCPD portal, providing an easy and accessible way for optometrists to manage their professional development and accreditation.
The portal is a virtual hub for optometrists that hosts live tracking of CPD points or credits and is home to a wide range of professional development resources and training.
The portal features an easy to read visual dashboard, where optometrists can track CPD points or credits. The portal will also provide a repository of professional development resources and CPD training; including online training and webinars, case studies, events and more.
The portal makes tracking CPD points and activity easy, with 24/7 access from a computer, mobile or tablet, and the ability to receive news alerts and information on upcoming events. The portal also allows optometrists to print certificates of completion and learning summaries.
All the information within the portal is personalised and linked to an AHPRA or ODOB number.
Specsavers Director of Optometry, Dr Ben Ashby said the new MyCPD portal was a great example of embracing technology to make optometrists’ professional lives easier.
“The MyCPD portal is a complement to the Specsavers benchmark reporting suite that supports reflection on the effectiveness of CPD to improve patient outcomes. The expectation that professional learning results in a quantifiable improvement in care is a much-needed change across the industry,” he said.
