There are only a few weeks left to register for the eighth Specsavers Clinical Conference (SCC8), which has been accredited for up to 35 Australian CPD points and up to 11.3 New Zealand CPD credits.
This year’s SCC will take place from 7 to 8 September 2019 at the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre and will involve two full days of clinical content. With lectures delivered by local and international experts, the SCC8 conference program is designed to provide delegates with impactful clinical knowledge that they can take straight into practice.
Over the two days, up to 35 Australian CPD points (including 12 therapeutic points) and up to 11.3 New Zealand CPD credits (including 6.5 clinical diagnostic points and 1 glaucoma education point) will be on offer. The program will include lectures on glaucoma diagnosis and co-management, diabetic retinopathy screening, KeepSight, and a range of other topics, delivering educational content tailored for clinical optometry practice. Additional independent learning CPD will be available in the SCC8 app, with articles provided by SCC8 platinum sponsors Novartis, Alcon and Menicon.
The main conference program will be complemented by a series of additional ‘Fringe Talks’, which will be delivered in the event’s exhibition area during breaks by key members of the eye health stakeholder community.
The SCC8 exhibition will be open across both days and will feature more than 20 exhibitors, giving delegates the opportunity to learn about the support Specsavers offers, the new technology available and the depth of Specsavers’ relationships with sponsors and other eye health stakeholders.
In addition to Specsavers Support Office teams, the exhibition will include representatives from: the Australian College of Optometry, Diabetes Australia, Eyes4Everest, Glaucoma Australia, Guide Dogs Victoria, Macular Disease Foundation Australia, Oculo, RANZCO, and Vision Australia.
