Our SCCO webinar session will this week explore the assessment of Swollen Optic Discs, including causes and clinical findings of patients with true disc swelling and those with pseudo disc swelling.
Hosted by leading ophthalmologist Dr Clare Fraser this live an interactive webinar will focus on the review of the OCT changes of optic disc drusen, compared to papilledema as well as the differential diagnosis of true disc swelling, the clinical assessment, and ongoing referral.
Dr Fraser is highly experienced in the field, having trained at Sydney Eye Hospital, and did fellowships at Moorfields Eye Hospital (London, UK) and Emory Eye Center (Atlanta, USA). She has specialised in neuro-ophthalmology, strabismus, and visual electrodiagnostics. She is a consultant Visiting Medical Officer at both Sydney Eye Hospital and Liverpool Hospital, and is also in private practice in Sydney. At the University of Sydney, she holds the title of Associate Professor of Neuro-ophthalmology.
This session is designed for optometrists and will assist you in recognising changes of optic disc drusen on OCT, differentiating true from pseudo disc swelling, and understanding the difference between disc swelling with normal versus abnormal vision.
The session will run on Tuesday, October 22 at 7pm.
