Guest speakers from patient support groups and a leading research institute will present on the exhibition floor at the 7th Specsavers Clinical Conference (SCC7), providing delegates with further information on how they can help enhance patient outcomes.
SCC7 will take place from 8 to 9 September 2018 at the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre, and for the first time, the exhibition will be open over both days. Delegates will be able to speak directly with representatives of more than 20 exhibitors to learn about the support Specsavers offers, the new technology available, and the depth of Specsavers’ relationships with sponsors and other eye health stakeholders.
During the lunch break on both the Saturday and Sunday, the SCC7 exhibition will also host bonus clinical ‘fringe talks’ for the first time, which, in total, are estimated to be worth an additional 4 (3 C, 1 T) CPD points (AU) and 2 CD points (NZ).
The SCC7 Fringe Talk presenters and topics are as follows:
Saturday, 8th September
When to refer your patient for low vision services and what services are available
Proactively shifting the dial on glaucoma detection and adherence rates
Sunday, 9th September
Professor Jonathan Shaw
Baker Heart and Diabetes Institute
PREDICT: a new study to find new ways of preventing vision loss from diabetes – how you can help
The importance of regular eye screening and early detection and treatment of diabetes-related eye disease
Specsavers is also offering 20 free ticket / flight / accommodation packages to external optometrists through the Spectrum SCC7 Prize Draw.
